Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational Modes of Communication
Exploring Culture
The most important thing I have learned about Spanish-speaking cultures, is that while there are some similarities, many cultural practices can vary massively from one country to another. Specifically, the stylistic changes to the spanish language depending on what country the speaker is from.
Interpersonal Communication
I had the pleasure of participating in a “TalkAbroad” conversation. I spoke with a woman from mexico, and experienced a 15 minute coversation in spanish on the topic of health and wealness. I learned much about my skills and areas of improvement, such as needing to practice more and expanding my vocabulary for more accurate sentences and how to use filler words naturally during a conversation.
Presentational Speaking
I was able to create two videos for this class that had recorded footage of me using the spanish language to describe and explain various topics. these videos will be posted below.
Interpretive Reading
LingroLearning provided me with numerous assignments dedicated to interpretive reading and improved my ability to use context and “words i know” to comprehend paragraphs. They used a mixture of checklists, matching tests, fill in the blank, and open response assignments to cover all forms of learning.
