In the role of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), you are responsible for making sure the company’s servers and overall technology are online and going at all times. In doing so, you ensure that the company is safer and better as well. In order to make sure this goal can be accomplished, certain protections would need to be put into place. One of these is to have data backups. This can help to ensure that all data can be retrieved in the event of an attack or security event. Another would be to have on-the-clock security monitoring of the system. In having security detection on a regular basis, not only would issues be detected immediately, but they can be able to be solved and potential damages would be mitigated as well. By having security detection, you would help the company be safer and better. Better protection also doesn’t happen with just the system, but it can happen within your employee structure as well. A lot of errors in a company can come from human error. In making sure your employees are trained on company procedures, they can be able to spot any potential hacking attempts or attacks. You end up solving an issue before it becomes one. Overall, the role of CISO is one that comes with considerable responsibility. To be in this position means that you know what is best for the company and how to make it safer. In knowing that, a company can be safe and reliable to function in the near and far future.
