About Me

I am an Old Dominion University undergraduate student majoring in Biomedical Sciences and minoring in Chemistry with dreams of attending medical school. I was born and raised in Arlington, Virginia and attended Jamestown Elementary, Swanson Middle, and finally graduating from Washington-Lee High School in June of 2019. I have a twin brother and an older sister who also attend Old Dominion University who major in Biomedical Sciences and Nursing, respectively. I have three other siblings; my oldest sister being a Virginia Tech alumni, my oldest brother in the Coast Guard, and a younger brother with impressive achievements. I have always been apart of a sport, such as competitive swim for Overlee and competitive road and cyclocross racing with National Creek Velo Club. In June of 2011, I beat death by being hit and run over by a dual-wheeled pick-up truck causing me to have both lungs popped, a compressed spine, and scars all over from lost skin. In July of 2019, I was in Ireland for my grandfather’s funeral and ended up swimming out to sea to save a 6-year-old girl from certain death.

My Passion

I have always been interested in the medical field because of what I went through in 2011. Without all the help of the medical personnel from the ambulance to the hospital, I would not be here today. Since that day, I have always wanted to return the favor and help people. I have wondered which field would make a positive difference in the world, and since genetics affects everyone, I strive to pursue a career in it. The event in Ireland in 2019 truly confirmed this medical path that I set out for myself is what I want to continue down to make a positive impact on the world.
