I paired this class with anatomy and was able to connect so many dots between the two. There was a lot learned between the two classes with cell biology getting into the specifics of how the human body works. For example, the most recent thing that I learned in cell biology was cell signaling, which had specified the processes learned in anatomy. Diabetes has been covered for the past two semesters of anatomy because it affects so many processes, but I didn’t get into how exactly insulin tells the cell to take in glucose. Insulin is a ligand that binds to a plasma receptor that activates a cascade that releases glucose channels, which allows more uptake of glucose. Anatomy scratched the surface on what needs to be learned with cell biology clearly explaining those processes step-by-step.
