Why are you interested in cybersecurity technology?

I find cybersecurity to be interesting because, although cybersecurity incidents are typically bad news, it can be enjoyable due to the fact that cybersecurity work actually makes a difference. Cybersecurity has also become increasingly interesting to me as we are currently living in a world where almost all aspects rely on some form of technology. The dependence of technology has become apparent in the wake of the current Pandemic.

The Pandemic caused a lot of panic in reference to completing daily activities, such as going to school or to work. These activities were eventually moved to he held remotely causing cybersecurity concerns across the world. This caused an abundance in need of cybersecurity related jobs. It’s important, in my opinion, to find a career that will last a lifetime. This will ensure your career’s longevity. I find this to be most interesting due to the fact that people will always want to protect their sensitive data and assets, so their are an abundance of opportunities to grow and prosper in a cybersecurity career. Cybersecurity is seen as a social problem that will likely never subside.

Cybersecurity is also interesting to me because as we learned in Module 1, cybersecurity can relate to many professions even if you don’t quite realize it. These professions include law, engineering, criminal justice, computer science, information technology, business, philosophy, political science, and psychology.

Ultimately, I find cybersecurity to be interesting because I’m a Criminal Justice major. Crime based careers typically interest me more due to the fact that they are usually higher paying, when compared to other careers. I find crime to be fascinating and we will in world filled with crime, so I doubt I will ever lose interest! No single company or organization is invulnerable to cyber threats, so the the future is looking bright for those seeking cybersecurity based jobs or careers.
