Compare cybersecurity risks in the U.S. and another country.
With much of our personal data being shared and stored online, the need for different countries to address cybersecurity risks is of the utmost importance. Many elements go into making sure a country is secure as we need to protect the infrastructure.
In the U.S., phishing, ransomware and crypto-jacking are among the topĀ cyber security threats/risksĀ and trends for 2021. Phishing is the unauthorized practice of sending emails masked as a refutable organization or company. Cyber criminals will use phishing to gain access to personal information such as passwords. This is most frequent in the U.S because other countries such as, China, partake in censorship. Ransomware is a form of malware. This is a software designed to encrypt files making them unusable and useless. A lot of poorer countries in Eastern Europe don’t experience ransomware as a cyber security risk. Crypto-jacking refers to a form of cyber security risk that involves criminals opting to take advantage of one’s computing power to mine crypto currency. The motive for this is more than often financial profit or gain. In late 2017 we saw a surge of crypto-jacking as a result of the value of cryptocurrencies rising. This has been seen as a cyber security risks globally by varying countries.
