This Sport Communication class has shown me how extensive our learning has become during the past several months. I entered the class with reasonable understandings about sports media collaboration yet I now grasp the multiple complex features in sport communication.
Social media emerged as a major lesson from the class which demonstrates its ability to remodel connections between fans athletes and organizational networks. I deeply admire the technique athletes use to share their personal stories through Twitter and Instagram platforms. I learned during this time that sports communication goes further than basic broadcasting because it requires total control while targeting specific audiences in a clear manner.
Constructing my personal blog throughout the semester offered me a great learning opportunity. The aspect that caught my attention most among all topics were discussions focusing on athlete activism like Colin Kaepernick and media accountability together with how sports showcase social matters in society. Those conversations were eye opening. Sports functions as a reflection that reveals current world situations because that’s what discussions taught me throughout my experience. Communicators within this field must approach their storytelling duties with honesty and respect.
The skills I acquired from this class enable me to follow my future career path toward media production or PR or storytelling in any field that interests me. The skills I learned in this class enable me to affect how people interact with sport while giving me confidence in my approach. The program’s usual standard course was actually meaningful because I believe its lessons will serve as direction for my future career development. I’m excited for what’s next.
