  1. I believe that, as more of our daily lives heavily involve and depend of technology, computers have overall improved the safety of our world and improved our quality of life. One vial aspect of human existence is education. Not just formal education, but also the expansive amount of knowledge that technology has allowed us to explore. Without modern day computers, humans would not be able to commence space travel or deep-sea exploration due to the dangerous circumstances those realms pose to us. We are only able to expand our thinking and research about space and sea because of computers. But also, the everyday citizen has access to a wealth of knowledge in their pocket that they gain reference from daily. Computers have increased the accessibility of knowledge overall for humans and almost any knowledge that humans have can be referenced by most people. Computers have also improved our methods of communication and bolstered the health industry due to the technological advances of surgical equipment.
  2. Engineers make cyber networks safer by constantly improving systems and advancing accessibility and capabilities for the user. There is always a new threat to our current cyber networks. It is the engineers who are unceasingly bolstering and refining cyber networks to increase their safety. Engineers also produce new and improved networks on a regular basis which prevents unauthorized users to gain access to said networks. They are insistently making new updates and resolving vulnerabilities before malicious attackers can take advantage of the cyber network’s weaknesses. Engineers are careful to preemptively find threats to the network by tracking every attack. Looking back on previous attacks, learning from them, and improving the conditions of the networks within the expansive cyber network is how engineers prevent the same attacks from repeating. The main method of protection that engineers use to make cyber networks safer is continuous improvement.
