I mostly consume my media and acquire knowledge through Twitter, and occasionally through TikTok. I would say that I consume media and knowledge through social media about 50% of the time. This is because I am not a huge social media person and I only use it for entertainment. Whenever I come across any sports-related content on my social media platforms, I take some time to read the headlines. I usually watch highlights of fights or conflicts in a specific sport. Additionally, I read newsletters and anything else that catches my attention. I don’t actively participate in online discussions due to the toxic environment that it can create. However, I do enjoy scrolling through the comments and reading people’s opinions.
The world of social media is changing rapidly. Streaming services have become more popular than cable recently because they are cheaper. I believe the impact of streaming on the sports world has been positive. More people can now participate and tune in, as streaming is cheaper than actual cable. “I believe that in the next five years, technology will become even more advanced than it is now. I hope that people will be able to afford seat side tickets as most people will be streaming events. Additionally, I would like to see the ability to communicate with others through streaming services.” AI is also at an all-time high but that can be a blessing and a curse.
I would like to talk about sports communication and how AI is changing it. While AI makes it easier for us to express our opinions, it also poses a challenge in terms of ensuring unbiased perspectives. Relying solely on AI for communication may not be a wise decision. If I had a magic wand to change the world of communication, I would make opinions more authentic and personal. Sometimes, I feel that in the world of social media, people are scared to express their opinions due to the fear of backlash from certain communities. My wish is to make sports opinions more authentic.
