The essay below is the first in a set of three essays that explore writing within my field of study: Professional Writing within Interdisciplinary Studies. The first writing assignment concerns the content analysis of job advertisements within my field, allowing me to get a better look at what skills and attributes potential employers are looking for.

The second essay, a narrative essay, takes the reader through my life story in regards to my academic interests. It gives insight into the traits that I have carried since childhood that now appear in my writing and learning style.

The third essay in this series is a reflective essay that highlights the main themes that have guided me throughout my degree and the things I have learned from these themes. These themes also reflect the skills that are the basis of the other artifacts included in this portfolio: communication, critical thinking, and creativity.

This research paper was written for my Writing in the Disciplines class, a course that explores the different writing styles and conventions of varying disciplines. This was key in my introduction to the world of Interdisciplinary Studies and the paper explores the gap that exists in the emphasis on writing skills between the disciplines.

The research paper below was written for my Digital Writing course and discusses data showing that TikTok has become the preferred search engine of the younger generation. This paper allowed me to incorporate several disciplines in my writing including technology, psychology, and engineering.
