The most important thing taught in this class session, in cell biology, is the complex mechanics involved in signaling proteins and specific pathways. The aspect described incorporates several notions about signaling, rather than a single thing. Firstly, I understood from this course how complex the mechanical elements are, including switches like proteins in GPCRs, transport mediated tags or appropriate channels, and the mechanics involved with ATP production. Many of the pathways taught are very dynamic and often interfere with one another. Furthermore, the class enforced the idea of how cell’s arrange the widespread processes within an organism. Biology is quite relevant to my biochemical major, in which all of the pathways and signaling mechanisms I’ve been introduced to involve a chemical signal and or a chemically reactive receptor interaction.
