Hey there, my name is Devin Villanueva and this is my perspective on the athletic realm! Let’s get acquainted; I’m a Graduate Student getting my Master’s in Lifespan and Digital Communication at Old Dominion University, and ODU is also where I completed my Bachelors in English Literature. I am sure that my interest in Sports seems a bit odd considering the background I’ve just given but if you knew me personally… you’d know that’s 100% accurate. I’m not very into the physicalities of athletics rather the stories and individuals that make the field of sport have meaning. I care about the in-between of competitors and contenders. My hope is that this course will provide me with an appreciation for the games, not just the players. That being said, this world isn’t completely novel to me. My brother was a footballer (goalkeeper) most of my growing up, before falling in love with computers. My father did track (long distance), crosscountry, and American Football (running back). My mother was in Taekwondoe and a footballer (fullback). I dabbled as an equestrian, a footballer (center back), and a gymnast.
