Hello, my name is Devin and I am a doom scroller, just not for sports. I was never a big partaker in sports in regards to media with the exception of a wholesome inspiring sports film. That being said within the past year i have enveloped myself in a series of media whether it’s from TikTok or Instagram I have held fast in my search for stories of interest to keep up with sports with the purpose of remaining relevant in conversations. Not saying I’m proud of this pursuit, but I am just saying.

Anyways these days the politics of anything makes my blood pressure go up so I appeal to the more feminine-side of sports media, *enters Sports-ish*. Sports-ish is a lot like Her Campus, a online magazine I used to write for, as it was made/founded by women, for women. The only difference between the two is that Sports-ish mainly discusses Sports. Now, as it says in Sports-ish’s Instagram Bio, this is not the typical sports news as it focuses on the pop culture side in regards to player’s personal lives while keeping the stats portion of the conversation light and comedic. They also are a more women sports focused group, following celebrities such as Simone Biles, Illona Maher, and A’ja Wilson.

Finally I’d say since starting my sports communication course I have tuned into more of the mainstream-side of sports but my consumption rate is limited to what’s on my “For You” page/feed on instagram since I deleted TikTok back in 2024.
