This was my first step in preparing an environment that I will continue using for the rest of the course. The process gave me a better understanding of how virtualization works and why it is important for cybersecurity training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key Concepts I Learned<\/strong><br>I learned how to install an operating system in a VM and allocate resources such as memory and CPU cores. I also practiced some basic Linux terminal commands:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><code>echo \"your_name\"<\/code> \u2013 outputs text to the screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><code>date<\/code> \u2013 displays the current system date and time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><code>ls<\/code> \u2013 lists the files and directories in the current location.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><code>pwd<\/code> \u2013 shows the present working directory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Challenges Faced<\/strong><br>One challenge I encountered was configuring the VM settings to run smoothly on my MacBook.
