This module to me was very engaging and I was able to see how my traits link up to what I do everyday. It was very interesting seeing how I was able to closely relate to these traits and how I depict these behaviors closely.

Trait 1: Kind = Helping a Friend out in a class we’re taking

Trait 2: Unselfish = Taking my time out of my day to help a friend with whatever they need help with

Trait 3: Determined = Having intense workouts/exercises to accomplish my goals

Trait 4: Sociable: Interacting with friends and new people at my club’s events

Trait 5: Adaptable: Being able to fit something that wasn’t planned in my schedule

A4: Are People Who Help Happier?

This was a very interesting module for me to do. I had to think of 10 people I knew and list whether they were unhappy or happy, and selfish or unselfish. After listening down 10 people that came to my head, none of them were unselfish. I had two friends that I know that were unhappy and just struggling due to personal reasons, but even that doesn’t change the fact of them being unselfish. With me personally, I consider myself unselfish especially towards my friends. I believe you get back what you give, and just being unselfish in general and helping others is what I strive to do, and to me I am surrounded by people that aren’t selfish.

A3: Attitude and Behavior Survey

For this artifact, I was to complete a survey that consisted of whether I agree or disagree on a certain stance, and after completing that I had to answer “yes or no” to behaviors that I either do or don’t do. This showed me how inconsistent I can be with what I agree with and what I actually do. A good example of this is how I believe I will do well on a test because I am knowledgeable but do poorly because there was more that I should’ve studied. I choose this visual because to me, it signifies how we should act the way we believe our attitudes should be, so if we believe one thing is correct, then we should do those actions that are correct.

A2: Subjective Happiness Scale

Personally, I feel like happiness is different to many people. Personally, I’m content and love the people around me, I’ve been living life to the fullest, but I feel like there are more things I can do in life that I can achieve. I scored an average 6 on this scale and shows that I am an “above average” happy person. I feel that being happy is achieving your goals and doing what brings you joy. There are of course other factors than your own personal goals to make you happy, but I believe that for me, picking one goal, sticking to it and just achieving it is and helping others around me is just one of the few things that brings me happiness. I chose this picture because it just screams happiness. You’re on top of your game and the best tier of your life and doing what you love to do, while being happy.

A1: Stereotypes

This was my favorite module out of them all. In this Module, I was given the task of placing adjectives towards races I believe best fit them. After doing this, I compared my findings to both Katz & Braly and Gilbert’s adjectives. This was a very interesting task to do because many of my adjectives were different from what I had described. Between the two groups, many of their adjectives changed from the timeline. Society and events that occurred definitely played a big role in stereotypes, which it still does today. The biggest one I can see is the Japanese. I characterized them as intelligent and tradition-loving as many Japanese I know are very smart, stick to tradition and very lovely and kind individuals. To Gilbert, the Japanese are deceptive and sly, and this is due to the Japanese actions and role in WWII. For my cloud, I chose a number of adjectives that described my group, Filipinos, and I believe that we are loving individuals who always want the best for everyone around us.

A5: The Self Across Situations For this module, I was able to express my best personalities and see how I closely portray them everyday.
