Reflective Cover Letter

In reflecting on my work as an IDS ePortfolio student, I believe that my areas of growth and learning is strongly represented in my entire ePortfolio. Throughout the ePortfolio are examples of artifacts that represent my knowledge skills and abilities, such as my resume, letters of recommendation and the example of my C.A.R.P. remix,  which speaks to my knowledge, skills and abilities. https://sites.wp.odu.edu/diazreedids/

I have grown tremendously as a student in the areas of technical knowledge, and understanding as they relate to the terms and execution, associated with each assignment.

The information that I have gained from this ePortfolio course will serve me well in my field of expertise as an etiquette instructor. Today, technology is the determining factor for many jobs. We have long since crossed the threshold of a new society that demands the use of technology, in its most basic forms. From the initial introductions through resumes; to the daily demands of the job, the ePortfolio segment of my education has empowered me to carry myself in a more professional manner.

Utilizing the knowledge, skills and abilities that I have recently acquired in my ePortfolio course, I now create far more professional materials, using less redundancy in my slides and other presentations. Now that I understand more about the ePortfolio, I can see that learning this information is an invaluable tool!  As a professional development trainer, it is my goal to inform and encourage each of my clients of the importance of having a professional ePortfolio as well as a resume that utilizes the C.A.R.P. Principles.

For example, the contiguity principle,  as displayed in the professional development section of my ePortfolio, reminds me to label items in a way that will allow my client to gain the most out of my presentation or training. Next, the modality principle, has taught me how to provide better videos, that can serve my clientele in my absence. Also, the segmentation principle, has allowed me to show my new audience how to prepare a special beverage indigenous to Lima, Peru.  Today my clients can access my site and receive information on a country without my being present.

The ePortfolio experience has been an outstanding one. It is truly an educational experience that has encouraged growth in my life not only as an individual, but a professional as well.  I believe that the ePortfolio class would be extremely beneficial to all students.
