Artifact 3
The module eleven artifact was interesting to me since it expanded my thinking of the material in chapter 9. Chapter 9 covered different perspectives on why people are kind to each other, and I enjoyed it very much. I also enjoyed this assignment since I was able to consider the concepts in the book and apply them to better understand the people in my life. After completing this item to archive, I was able to understand how I perceived other levels of happiness and their tendencies to be selfish or unselfish.
This assignment expanded my knowledge of the chapter 9 concepts by allowing me to think more critically of how they are relevant to the people in my life. By completing the module eleven item to archive I was able to consider different concepts from the book when considering the levels of selfishness/happiness among the people I know. I also learned more about the empathy-altruism hypothesis when working on this assignment since I had to consider the motives of people I know. I chose this image since it represents the concept of the item to archive.

Artifact 2
Attitude Survey
The module 7 archived item was interesting and my favorite from the last few modules. By completing the survey, I was able to see how sometimes feelings don’t match behaviors. The chapter associated with this item delt with attitudes and behaviors in social situations and helped me gain a better perspective on cognitive dissonance. From this activity I learned about how easy it is to have a strong feeling about a particular subject only to find that our actions and behaviors don’t reflect what we think we would or should do. This activity also gave me a chance to reflect on the ways I have tried to balance out or make sense of the connections between my attitudes and actions upon realizing that they were not in sink.
Once completing the survey from the archived item, I found that a couple of the attitudes I have chosen in the past were not in alignment with my behaviors. By reflecting on past experiences with feelings of dissonance, I learned that I would approach less critical situations by trying to justify my behaviors while doing the opposite for my more serious beliefs. I have also noticed that only when I am absolutely sure that my behaviors are not justifiable will I be completely compelled to change my future actions. Another thing I learned was that I can also be inconsistent with how I approach cognitive dissonance in more personal situations. For example, when it comes to making healthy lifestyle choices, I won’t always try to change my behavior. I found, that depending on the situation, I will sometimes adjust my attitude to make room for a contradicting behavior. Overall, I found this archived item as a useful tool of self-reflection as it expanded my knowledge of the topic beyond my understanding from the book. I chose this picture since it reflects the process of cognitive dissonance.

Artifact 1
“Self- and Other-Enhancement in Everyday Life”
I chose this item to archive as my first top artifact because I enjoyed the chapter pertaining to the assignment. It was interesting to reflect on the psychological process used to gain a good first impression. I enjoyed the practice of going through each scenario and thinking about the differences in enhancement strategies that a person would go through to make a good first impression.
I thought it was interesting how by reflecting on the scenarios on the pdf, it was clear that most situations involve similar self- enhancement strategies while other enhancements were either not used or specific only to the situation. This item to archive expanded my knowledge of the social perception chapter by allowing me to consider the ways in which people develop their perceptions of themselves and how those perceptions affect their behavior and emotions. I chose this photo because it was a good depiction of a person going through the process self-enhancement.
