Digital forensics is the collection, analysis, and reporting of various electronic data that can be preserved to be presented in a court of law. Investigators overt and covertly extract digital evidence. I find it interesting that David Teo’s path to digital forensics was non-traditional. Teo originally was working in accounting at a small firm that happened to also be looking for someone to help with networks. Accounting took him down the interesting path of information technology and digital forensics. This is evidence that you do not necessarily always have to have a degree in computer Science to land a fulfilling job within the cybersecurity field. My biggest take away is that the cybersecurity field is constantly expanding and needs professionals with different experience and backgrounds.
