Artifacts I
Critical Thinking
This deliverable was a philosophical argumentative paper that required me to read and analyze the ethical arguments of two authors and apply them to argue whether Google Street View is ethical in their actions or not. I completed this paper back on June 2nd, 2024, when I was 27 years old. This paper exercised my critical thinking skills requiring me to use and assess reasons to validate my assumptions and arguments. I was required to review observations and arguments other disciplinary authors to form my own unbiased fact-based perspective. This was also the first essay within my major that broke away from the traditional APA/MLA writing style improving my writing communication versatility.
Empathizing
This short essay I wrote in 2025 at age 27 evaluates recent academic peer-reviewed research related to shoplifting. The purpose was to analyze the crime through a crime policy and theory. Throughout this essay I was required to read through many incidents of theft to form an objective opinion. What I came to learn throughout this essay was that shoplifting is not a black and white issue, it requires a nuanced and empathic thought process as there are many different people that engage in this crime for a multitude of reasons. In my essay I analyzed a real case where a teen was convicted of shoplifting instead of focusing on punishments my essay centralized on helping and aiding teens at risk to shoplifting and figuring out the why behind it to prevent shoplifting and future.
Linux Coding
This was a step-by-step instructional assignment which allowed me to practice scripting and basic computing and coding skills which are foundational must have technical skills, most cybersecurity roles like being an analyst or technician require. The objective was to learn how to execute commands in Linux and file management using an emulator. The step-by-step screenshots were required to be formatted and submitted in a Microsoft word document. I completed this assignment in January 2023 at age 26.
Persuading
This writing workshop assignment was a pre-assignment for a persuasive essay I wrote on personal auto insurance companies defending against data breaches back in December 2022 at age 25. The objective of this assignment was to visually represent your research topic, and the disciplines I used within my paper for my argument, and the conflicts between disciplines within my research. This assignment exercised my creativity, forced me to get curious about my topic, and learn tons about the topic from multiple disciplinary lenses in order to present an effective persuasive argument on the significance on auto insurance companies protecting themselves against data breaches. I executed these skills by creating my own meme slideshow presentation to visually explain my argument.
Taking Instructions
This deliverable was a semester long group project I worked on from January 26, 2025, to April 20, 2025. I was 28 years old with a junior standing during this course. This project expanded my understanding of the cybersecurity needs of a public corporation. This project combined foundational skills such as understanding the five functions of cybersecurity, organization, teamwork, business writing, and highlighted challenges in successfully establishing cybersecurity programs in competitive industries. Once the project was completed, we had created a sixteen-page document including a table of contents, references, company profile, tables, and content explaining how an organization should improve their cybersecurity practices. To execute this project my team and I had to overcome geographical and time zone differences to work together as we were all online students in varying locations. Due to the varying locations and times instruction were received from our group leader on many platforms such as Canvas, text message, zoom, etc. Our final grade was a 100 % showcasing our instruction taking skills.
