In the presentation on digital forensics, its speaker, Davin Teo, gives a rare glimpse into his own way to get a job in this niche. He somehow found himself in the area of digital forensics after having been a trainee as an accountant at a small accounting practice that needed support or IT help. He would later become part of one of the big four accounting firms and took a chance with the first national digital forensic practice in Australia.” It is rather interesting that there were no official classes then so people had to sink into them or have been dragged into this field. Mr. Teo’s adventure demonstrates the changing character of career pathways showing how a mixture of assorted qualifications combined with untried breakthroughs may get into a space-limited and important area as computer crime investigation. A professional narrative provides an interesting perspective on this presentation as the listeners can identify themselves with the author.
