In my opinion , my paper was on topic and I felt I gave a direct answer to the prompt . Before turning it in I reread it and fixed a couple mistakes I made , but that was not enough. After seeing my grade, I received a 2/5 which is basically a fail. I was very surprised by the score but then I went over the graded work I realized my mistakes. A big problem with my thesis statement. My thesis statement wasn’t big enough to carry the whole paper. The thesis statement should state the overall tone and meaning of your paper, but I failed to do that. My thesis statement was weak , so that lead my topic sentences to be poor. My topic sentences couldn’t really relate to my thesis and the reader would have a hard time connecting the paper. I am working on getting my strong thesis statements and to be honest I’ve always struggled with them. The writing session are a huge help when it comes to getting the help in need to do better. On my second essay ,I feel as if my thesis was exceptional but we’ll wait and see. My second problem was in between my sentences , I struggled with punctuation. I had a couple of misused commas and one subject- verb agreement mishap. I was confused on the comma you have to put before “and”, it’s one of the more tricky ways to use a comma. I need to look at all the ways to use a comma after “and”. The rest were just commas that i forgot to put. If a do a more thorough proof-read , I could have caught those. Once I get someone to proof-read my writing, that problem should be fixed. My least problem was ,The one sentence I had a wrong word. Interest versus Interests was the error, This was a noun problem. Those were all my errors that were included in my paper, I could have done a better job and my biggest mistake was the weak thesis.
