Reflection 3

Reflection #3

Diesel Johnson

Group 8

Although we did not get to put our practice to the test with a true presentation, I still believe there was a lot learned by this service-learning project. Not only did it help us truly realize our own understanding of the material, and also a new appreciation on how tough teaching can be! But we also learned a lot about our classmates and ourselves. From leadership roles and different responsibilities. To teamwork, presenting, and public speaking. We all learned our true strengths and used them to our advantage to create the best presentation possible and ensure that what we knew could be translated to our audience and more importantly remembered. Before this class I had never heard about a service-learning project. After hearing about it and finally going on with the project, I have a new appreciation for them. Not only is teaching a great way to understand the information for yourself, but you are simultaneously helping a community of other kids who are hungry for the information! A service-learning project is an amazing way to not only help a community that may not have the same opportunity that we have but also learn any subject, and meet new people.
