I chose this Item to Archive because I found it interesting how my answers and my partner’s answers compared. My partner and I come from different cultures, so I found it interesting how much our answers matched up. This helped me to learn that even though people come from different cultures they can have similar views. In this case, it is gender stereotyping in careers. This did lead to an interesting conversation between me and my partner as to why we typically associate a particular gender with a particular career.
Module 9 Archive
There a vast majority of our responses were the same. However more of their responses were “male.” I personally believe that either gender can occupy the careers that were listed. So when I answered the questions, I went with who I thought of first. I see that I defaulted to gender norms when writing my answers.

I chose this Item to Archive because it sums up who I am. You don’t always think about the things that shape who you are. When I did this archive I had never really considered the things that have shaped me. I especially didn’t consider these events. When you think about it, every little thing has an effect on you. You see things, hear things, and do things that make you who you are. The things that you do also shapes other people’s lives. It makes you more aware of the impact that you have on those around you.
Module 6 Archive
It is hard to reflect on one particular experience That helped shape who I am today. There are a series of experiences having to do with my sister that is definitely shaped who I am. My sister was fairly sick when we were growing up. So she got a lot of attention from my parents. We as a family were always focused on her. I spent a lot of time going to doctors’ appointments with her and my mom. The way this relates to my present self, is that I like to take care of people. This helped shape how attentive I am to people when something is wrong. It has helped me be more observant. I can easily pick up on cues that something is wrong that most people miss.

I chose this Item to Archive because I like to study personality. This was not my first exposure to this model. I took the Theories of Personality class here at ODU. I also have done a fair amount of personal research in to personality traits and theories. By putting it in this context, it made me see what traits show up when I am in a situation that I am not being my typical self. It was interesting to do this assignment and associate it with how it fits into culture.
Module 8 Archive
I work very hard to be authentic and to remain the person I want to be, so I very rarely behave in a way that is different from my typical personality. So it was really hard to think of instances.
I got extremely angry during an argument and yelled at the person I was arguing with.
Someone promised me that they were going to do something and they made the choice not to do it. So, I went and got them and made them do what they promised.
I think that the following sub-traits showed themselves during these episodes.
Impulsiveness
Angry Hostility
Assertiveness
Actions
Straightforwardness
I personally believe that you can be consistent in personality. However, I do believe that sometimes you can really be pushed to the point where you act out of your norm.

This Item to Archive made me realize just how much time I give to people. I spend a lot of my time making sure that I get everything done and try to appease a lot of people. The more I thought about this assignment, the more I realized that I can’t always take my time away to wait on everyone else. That I need to handle certain things on my time and not on someone else’s. Time is a very important thing and it should not be wasted waiting.
Module 10 Archive
Target Person | Minutes |
Your parent | 45 |
Your sibling | 45 |
Your boyfriend or girlfriend | 45 |
Your best friend | 45 |
Your colleague | 10 |
Your client | 20 |
Your boss | 10 |
I found differences in my results. The more I care about the person, the more willing I am to wait for them.

I liked this particular Item to Archive because it made me think about the things that make me happy. You don’t usually think about these kinds of things. Most of the time they are “in the moment.” By taking the time to think about what makes you happy you can see the things that you take for granted every day. This makes me want to be more grateful for the things that I have in my life that make me happy. It also showed me how much the things that make me happy shape who I am and my surroundings.
Module 13 Archive
A lot of things make me happy. My pets, music, baseball; the list is very long. I think when I was younger things that made me happy were different than they are today. Even different things made me happy a couple of years ago. A perfect example of this is baseball. Three years ago, I could have cared less about this sport. Then some things changed and now it’s something I find great enjoyment in.
Happiness does relate to better physical health and physical health does relate to happiness. If you are happy, you are more motivated to get up, go out, and do things. By being happy, you are more willing to participate in activities that involve physical exertion. During exercise, your body releases endorphins, making you feel good. Feeling good can lead you to feeling happy.

These are a few images that I photographed.
