National Institute of Standards and Technology, or NIST, is a division of the U.S. Department of Commerce. The NIST Cybersecurity Framework aids organizations of all sizes in developing a better understanding of, managing, and reducing their cybersecurity risk and safeguarding their networks and data. The way I would use it in the workplace is that organizations may practice cybersecurity with a solid foundation thanks to the NIST Framework. Organizations that opt to implement the NIST Framework are better positioned to adapt to future compliance requirements, making long-term compliance simple. Regulations and laws change, and there is a potential that new ones will emerge where I can be ready to partake in.
