CYSE 201S – Cybersecurity as a Social Science

This course examines the social, political, legal, criminological, and economic aspects of cybersecurity through a social science lens. Students will explore a human-centered approach to analyzing cybersecurity threats, focusing on the social factors that contribute to cyber incidents and the political and legal frameworks designed to regulate the actions of those who pose risks. The course also delves into how cybersecurity is researched across various social science fields, including psychology, political science, criminology, economics, sociology, international studies, and related disciplines.
