Why am I interested in cybersecurity technology?

I’m interested in cybersecurity technology because it will be a big part of our future as humans. As the years go by more and more people are able to access the internet and with that, commit cyber-crimes. At some point it has to be expected that all 7+ billion people on the planet will be able to get online from some sort of device, so I think that all of the new technology and the advances that cybersecurity is making are extremely important. Everything is also done online now and is hidden behind some sort of password or biometric recognition. Gone are the days of robbing actual banks or jewelry stores when you can steal someone’s identity or send malicious sites to people that steal your information as soon as you click on it.

Another reason is because the use of physical items will start to dwindle. I’m not talking about cars, shoes, or food. I mean books, newspapers, journals, or any item that is used to store information. Today, almost all of our information is completely digital. Libraries are closing down, we get our news almost all online, and important information can be found online. If we were to lose our access to the internet, then we would lose the biggest library the world has ever seen. It would all vanish into nothingness. I say this because I have always been interested in history as well, so don’t we want to protect our version of cave paintings.

Lastly, I am a 23-year-old man at the time of typing this. Technology has been something I have always known. Whether it was jail-breaking my iPhone in middle school, playing Fruit Ninja on my mom’s iPad, or building my own gaming computer, I have been interested in technology. There are so many opportunities and things to learn, and that number continues to grow every day. There’s a reason that cybersecurity is one of the fastest growing industries in the world today.
