Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational Modes of Communication
Exploring Culture
In Spanish 101 this semester I had plenty of practice with videos and assignments I had to complete on “lingrolearning”. Lingro learning really helped me understand conjugating verbs through each chapter I never thought I would be able to. we also explored the culture by watching different videos on how individuals celebrated holidays in their country.
The way lingro learning helped me with my Spanish it made me able to interact with way more Spanish-speaking people Then I have in the past. And then with the help of my professor, helped me profound it more and made me able to speak it clearly, so I’m exceptionally grateful for that.
Engaging in Communities
We also did a lot of one-on-one interactions with classmates to not also grow our Spanish but make friends Aswell.
Unfortunately, I do not have clips or pictures of me Engaging with communities or others.
Interpersonal Communication
The majority of our class time was always spent interacting with other classmates whether it was In English or Spanish. I was paired with a partner, and we remained partners the entire semester and which led to us practicing our skills and learning more about each other. And that led me to make a friend not only in class, but we were able to help and teach each other throughout the year.
Some class exercises my professor would do is write questions that were probable or rhetorical so that we get more out of them. Such as if we thought “Aliens were real and why?” those were a big help in helping us extend our horizon in speaking Spanish. I’ve grown with each assignment by taking my time and getting to know how each verb is said from the point of view of my classmates whether we were in a group or by ourselves, and it was hard sometimes but challenges are not meant to be easy. I also can say I excelled in making it known I was talking to a person by including their name and the correct form of the verb, so they knew that Aswell.
Presentational Speaking
In chapter 5 I had to do a video on my campus and I can easily say it was one of the funniest projects I’ve ever done During the semester. It took some tries to get done but overall the work i did in it was histarical. http://My Movie 3.mov
The video above was taken on November 11th, 2022, and it was right after a football game so I figured why not have a little fun so I recorded off my phone and I can say What challenged me the most I would say is remembering my ques and lines for recording. I could say I excelled over the year with describing the things in the video and where I was.
Presentational Writing
This semester After each module we were instructed to complete a project about that module. The majority of the time we were given the summary of the unit and we wrote about it so which made it easier for my professor to provide us with detailed feedback.
On lingro learning we had assignments that had a box of verbs at the top of the page, and we had to put them in the right spot and conjugate them it made that so we could know what we got wrong or not and I enjoyed getting the feedback. it made my life easier.
Interpretive Listening
We watched a lot of videos of actors who did videos for teaching that helped somewhat, and we would have to pick out three things we heard them talk about, so it helped in a way.
We watched a few videos of people interacting in Spanish and then we would have to talk about what we heard them talking about, what they were doing, and what the speaker’s tone was. That made understand people speaking Spanish in class easy to understand because it wasn’t a lost scenario, we knew what was going on
Interpretive Reading
In Class, my professor would put an email on the screen and we would have about 5 to 10 minutes to conjugate the verbs that had to be filled in the blanks. this was one of my favorite things to do because it helped me learn the right way to conjugate which is something I struggle with.
The conjugating verb activity made the course progressively easier as the semester went on not only because it was an easy 5 points but because it made writing papers and assignments online easier to understand without teacher help.
