  • What inspired him/her to get into that field? – Audrey’s dad was sick a lot while she was growing up. He was always in and out of hospital. Audrey knew she wanted to help people and that’s what she wanted to do. Her first thought was to become a physician assistant.

  • What is the most surprising aspect of their career? – The different things you can do… She didn’t realize (at first) the numerous roles different nurses can do ( Dr. offices, public health, reps for equipment, etc.)
  • What is the most challenging aspect of their career: Politics! Everyone has different opinions and thoughts about certain things/people. So when it can sometimes affect her day at work or the patient itself in terms of communication.
  • Advice she would give to someone getting into the health field? Audrey told me that anyone interested in the health field can find their niche anywhere within. There are so many different types of jobs for everyone with different interests that it’s hard to NOT find your place. If someone is contemplating the health field, they should just go ahead and do it. It is a lot of hard work but it is worth it in the end.
