When given the “short arm” of predictive knowledge, we should approach the development of cyber policy and infrastructure with caution and a focus on flexibility and adaptability. This means taking a proactive and forward looking approach that is based on the best available evidence and insights, but that also recognizes the limitations of our ability to predict and prepare for the future. One of the key ways, best to approach the development of cyber policy and infrastructure in this way is to focus on building resilience and flexibility into our systems and processes. This means designing and implementing cyber policy and infrastructure in a way that is able to withstand and adapt to a range of potential challenges and disruptions, rather than relying on a specific set of assumptions or predictions about the future. With this its more of a contingency plan for the worst, even through nothing went wrong doesn’t mean anything can’t go wrong so implementing this is a great way to go about it. Another important aspect of this approach is to prioritize collaboration and information sharing among different stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector organizations, and other relevant parties. By fostering a culture of collaboration and information sharing, we can ensure that we are able to access and use the best available knowledge and insights to inform our decision-making, and that we are able to respond quickly and effectively to changing circumstances. Additionally, we should be prepared to regularly review and update our cyber policy and infrastructure in response to new developments and challenges. This means being open to new ideas and approaches, and being willing to adapt and adjust our policies and infrastructure as needed. This can help to ensure that our cyber policy and infrastructure remains relevant and effective in the face of an ever-changing landscape.
