Week 4 – Journal Entry #4: Applying Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs to Technology

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs applies to technology in many meaningful ways. At the physiological level, I rely on technology for essentials like ordering food through apps and monitoring my health with fitness trackers. For safety, cybersecurity measures such as strong passwords and antivirus software help protect my personal data and online identity.

The need for belonging is fulfilled through social media platforms, where I stay connected with friends, family, and online communities. At the esteem level, I build confidence by showcasing my skills in online forums and receiving positive feedback on projects I share. Finally, self-actualization is supported by online learning platforms, where I continuously enhance my knowledge and improve my abilities.

Technology plays a crucial role in meeting each of these needs, shaping how I interact with the world and pursue personal growth every day.
