Artifact 5
What is happiness? To me happiness starts with my children’s laughter, well being, and sense of stability. It is also my husband and I not stressing and arguing and it ends with my family and friends coming together for all different occasions. Happiness to me is honestly the little things in life that you cannot pay for, but the things you receive naturally or through hard work. I am a very happy person because I know my children are not wanting anything they need and that I have a loving family and marriage. That is my happiness. However, some people believe that happiness comes from materialistic things and even fame. Different cultures measure happiness in different ways such as their intelligence, religion believes, how much bling they have, etc.
Artifact 4
For my fourth artifact I chose to do the questionnaire about Are people who help happier? I choose 10 people and even asked my husband to do the same 10 people. Our results came back the same and the majority of people who help are happier. I believe that if you are happy than you have no issue helping others get to the same level of happiness as you. Unfortunately some people can also be happy and selfish, but that is very rare and that is the same case as unhappy people who are unselfish.
Artifact 3
As time goes on stereotypes typically change. Reason being is that people are not letting themselves live in a world where others dictate how they will be observed. People are not wanting to be labeled by a stereotype, but rather what they have achieved. Also the way that society is today is completely different then it was say 60 years ago. Nothing is the same that it was when certain groups different have rights and freedoms. Unfortunately, Blacks and Jews still have negative stereotyping from society.
Artifact 2
Trait 1: Optimistic:
My husband and I have been stressing over bills and having to move. The money we are bringing in has been covering our bills and we are getting further and further from being able to move. However, I keep telling my husband that we will get the money some how and that if we think negatively then it is going to make it harder to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Negative thoughts brings in negative energy and that can lead to strain on our marriage and our children.
Trait 2: Maternal:
I have a friend that is 27 years old and was arrested last year for a DWI. He lost his license, a ton of money, and almost lost his freedom. I started to act like his mother and started worrying about him more than usual when he got his restricted license. I was mostly worried about him getting a second DWI and he started to hide things from me. This lead to me not being as maternal as usual with him which in turn lead him to drinking and driving again. This time I have not loosened my maternal grip on him and he has done everything he is supposed to do.
Trait 3: Hardworking:
I started a job where it was promised that if I worked hard than I would get a raise every 30 days until I approached the hourly salary that I desired at start. Well I was working hard and trying to organize his office and paperwork when I received my first raise. I was able to show him that I was hardworking and willing to put the effort in to receive my raise.
Trait 4: Friendly:
I approach everyone with a smile that I come into contact with rather it be on the phone or in person. I believe that my friendly attitude can make someone’s bad day turn around.
Trait 5: Helpful:
I have always been one to lend a helping hand. Rather that be open a door or loan money to someone in need. I do not normally ask questions or judge someone’s situation. If someone needs my help, I normally give it to them willingly.
Artifact 1
Similarity leads to attraction
Social psychologists have found in their research that there seems to be wisdom in the idea of “similarity leads to attraction.”
In a sentence or two, why do you suppose this is true?
Honestly, similarities can lead to attraction because when people have similar interests, hobbies, goals, etc. it can lead to conversation and relationship goals. One of the things that really started my attraction to my husband was that we were both devoted to our families and children. I believe that if he was honestly not a family man that I would not have wanted to get to know him more in a romantic way.

Opposites attract
Social psychologists have found in their research that there seems to be wisdom in the old saying, “Opposites attract.”
In a sentence or two, why do you suppose this is true?
I do not exclusively agree with the concept of opposites attracting. Mostly because people seem to be more likely to attract to similarities than opposites such as a person is more attracted to someone that have the same goals, hobbies, and most of personalities. For example, a person who is very religious is not going to be attracted to an atheist. Most people look at similarities before opposites as well such as age, backgrounds, political orientation, and religion.
