It is important for students to write research papers. I say this because in most cases when students are assigned a research papers, they are assigned something that will teach them on broader than their horizon. Research papers teach students in the process. Student have to Look up and learn about whatever topic was assigned to them. I believe that instructors as I research papers because they want to see how much the students have learned about the topic given to them.
