Writing Reflection One

The first essay is complete and I’m very pleased with the grade that I got. I ended up getting a perfect score on my paper. I did not expect to get a perfect score but I’m happy that that’s what I received. Coming into this class I knew that there’d be a lot of writing involved and I was prepared, and the way that our writing assignments are assigned, its set up in a nice order. I didn’t realize how much writing I did in this class just because of how it is set up. Every day we write a paragraph about anything and these paragraphs build up. Soon we’ll have the 15 paragraphs we need for out websites. 

To begin, I knew coming into this class that I needed to work on my writing skills because I didn’t get the required score to be placed in English 110. I love that we write a lot in this class because the more you write the more you get to practice your writing skill, which allows you to become a stronger writer. Not only are you practicing your writing, but you’re also getting feedback from the instructor and fellow classmates. Each essay that we write has peer review sessions that allows you and classmates to go over each other’s essays to help find errors and ultimately making a better essay.  

I can already see the progress that I have made just from the first essay. I was surprised that I got a perfect score because on the previous journals that I wrote, I had many errors, so because I got a perfect score shows that I made progress. Also, because I didn’t get a three on my placement writing test also played a factor in me being surprised by my score.
