The first eleven weeks of college have consisted of my transitioning period from highschool. These weeks have showed my growth in many different ways. UNIV 150 has made a huge impact on my growth; I’ve grown in my writing, in the way I think and also the way I read. Growing hasn’t only been for just one class its been implemented for all my classes. Specifically in UNIV 150, I came into this class feeling as I didn’t know how to write a simple essay. I had already failed my placement test leading me into this class so all my thoughts about writing were just so negative. My first writing came back and it was an “I told you so” moment, looking at my checklist I so many things on the needs improvement Side. I took this essay as motivation to do better,so I used all the materials given to me in class from the powerpoints to the notes, just everything. As i wrote my second essay i made sure to look for comma splices, run sentences, and garbled sentences. I was a little nervous to get that essay back, but when i did it wasn’t perfect but i did see growth. I had more strengths than i did weaknesses this time. I feel like now at eleven weeks I’m more comforatable with writing but i still struggle with punctuations. I always get marked for wrong use of punctuation so i just stoped using it. This doesn’t include periods or anything its more so comas. UNIV 150 has really been helping me this far and it can be seen in my writing and physically viewed in my editing skills checklists. I hope in the next half of this class I’m more comfortable than ever with writing. I hope to be able to write with no fear of not knowing what I’m doing or not having confidence in my writing. I want to be able to just no what to write and how to write. A short term goal would be to pass the writing placement test and  my long term goal would be to feel comfortable with writing.
