My partner was from Spain and he taught me a lot about the medical system in Spain. We started talking about my experience when I studied abroad in Spain. I told her about how when I got sick, I did not know what to do at the pharmacy because in the United States I rarely have to ask a pharmacist for medicine unless I have a prescription. She explained to me that there you have to ask for medicine and go to a pharmacy in order to get medicine and that most of the time you have to go to the doctor to get a prescription. However, she told me that the health care system in Spain is free and it is easy to get an appointment to go see the doctor. The conversation progressed and we talked about maternity and paternity leave in Spain and the United States which then somehow progressed to the taxes in both countries. Overall, it was a good experience and I learned a lot about the health care and tax system in Spain.

Audio Reflection English My second experience with TalkAbroad was just as good, if not better than the first.
