Assignment Takeaway 5
In this assignment I learned a deeper meaning to paying it forward. At first glance I thought the assignment was very cheesy and that I would not learn much, but it was the personal psychological aspect that I was not expecting. Every day I tasked myself with paying it forward for this assignment I found that it boosted my mood. On a surface level it seems this assignment is strictly for the benefit of those you are paying it forward to, but it did effect me in an impactful way even with the smallest of favors. The world is becoming worse and worse at interacting with each other in positive ways. I noticed through this assignment that I rarely ever even interact with those I do not know, but even something as easy as holding a door can make an entire difference in someone’s day. This assignment helped me in realizing that paying it forward makes a huge positive impact in both directions, and if more people could realize it then I think more people would do it for reasons other than an assignment.

Assignment Takeaway 4
In this assignment I’ve learned the different styles of love such as Eros, Storge, Ludus, Pragma, Mania, and Agape. My highest scoring category was Agape, which means I am an empathetic when it comes to love and I would put my partner over myself and anything else. In my own personal relationship I feel that I am very empathetic towards my partner and will satisfy their own needs over my own, as well as their happiness brings me happiness. My lowest scoring category is Eros because I do not base my relationship on physical attraction and infatuation. The styles of love questionnaire is essential for any understanding of a relationship.

Assignment Takeaway 2
This assignment made us look at our own self-portraits and decide which of them best represented different aspects of ourselves and why. This allowed us to really narrow in on how we view ourselves and pick how we wanted to portray our personality traits in photo form. I personally spent a lot of time just choosing photos for this assignment, I wanted to make sure each photo included some important aspect of myself that I wanted to portray in this assignment, even if to others I did not necessarily look good. I think this assignment did well in making people establish what their self identity is, and how it can be represented in even just a photo. It also allowed people to provide insight into each photo, add an aspect to it that maybe cannot be seen by simply looking at it. To strangers the photo may mean nothing, but to the individual taking, there is always deeper meaning.
“Appearance vs. Personality”: I think this photo represents what self-portraits can represent. How there is a difference between how someone appears and what their personality consists of. Being able to explain the meaning behind photos can be the difference in appearance vs. personality.

Assignment Takeaway 1
This assignment focused on different heuristics and how they apply to the world today. I learned the definition of each heuristic, as well as real world examples of each. Through this assignment I was able to establish a great understand of heuristics and how they can effect specific individuals. On a personal level, this assignment helped me grasp just how easy it is for assumptions to get out of hand within these heuristics. I found representative heuristics to be very interesting in regards to how assumptions can be made, people basing assumptions off of one single mental prototype is something I see so often and has grown to bother me a lot. But to learn how these assumptions occur, not always for the best, is something I found very interesting.

I felt this image represents the overgeneralization that happens in society within representative heuristics.
