The last 100 hours of my internship were spent shadowing various departments within Riverside Health Systems. Departments I have shadowed thus far have been Human resources, Hospital Administration, Marketing, iCare Epic trainers/analysts, Riverside Health College of Careers, and various specialty practices. Within the human resources department, I have shadowed HR business partners, HR specialist I & II, and recruiters. During this shadowing, I could see and experience daily operations and what everyone does in their roles. I enjoyed shadowing the business partner the most because I was able to attend meetings with him and understand the pros and cons of his roles. Such as approving a raise for an employee but also having to terminate an employee and shadowing the hospital administrators, who were executive assistants to the executive leaders at Riverside Regional Hospital. I was unaware of how much they do to keep the hospital operating daily. During these last hours, we began discussing job placement opportunities. I have been meeting with leaders from Riverside Mental Health and Recovery Center as they have been working with me to get a job at their location. As this internship ends, I am grateful for all the connections I have made thus far and for how much I have grown personally and professionally.
