From a very young age I was taught that knowledge and information have all the power in the world we live in today. The advancement of technology, although beneficial to us as humans, has opened the doors to cyber crime. This type of crime targets us all which seeks to exploit us causing a domino effect of collateral damage that will potentially detrimentally affect our society and our day to day lives. Due to this predicament I feel that the world’s only hope to combat such crimes is the implementation of cybersecurity technology and also certifying and teaching as many future cyber security students and professionals. That is why I am interested in cybersecurity technology. With a quick google search of cybersecurity technology I was introduced to terms I was quite familiar with networks and programs. Programs are any software and applications that have a set of instructions that tell a computer what tasks to perform. For example the google docs application I’m using to write my  answer the prompt your reading right now is an application. Networks on the other hand are the computer or digital and electronic device’s connection to communicate with each other. These connections can be physical like cables or wireless. The internet is one of the best examples of a network at work. When someone connects to the internet they are able to receive and share information, enabling themselves to access various online activities we like to use in our everyday lives. That is why cybersecurity technology is so important because it protects systems, networks, and programs from cyber attacks everyday that seeks to exploit and detrimentally affect our lives. The threat of cyber attacks we face rises everyday as technology improves. As I have already stated, to properly deal with this constant threat we have to continue to certify and teach as many future cyber security students and professionals to build a stronger and better cybersecurity practice.
