Deviance is when someone\u2019s actions don\u2019t match the normal standards expected of them. This can be seen in when someone starts behaving different at work. In the world of cyber technology, bad behavior at work can slip by unnoticed more easily than in other areas because it\u2019s often done online. Let\u2019s say an employee isn\u2019t happy because they were either let go or didn\u2019t get something or get a promotion they thought they deserved. This person might take revenge on their company. If they know the ins and outs of a company they could steal important data and sell it to competing businesses for money.\u00a0 If no one stops their access, this same person could sneak back into his old job and keep damaging his employer. I consider this\u00a0 workplace deviance since it\u2019s not what the a company expects from its staff. This is not the only cyber technology workplace deviance occurs. For instances, if a worker decides to turn off a company\u2019s security systems, it sets up an open invitation for hackers. The business could then face serious threats, as intruders might gain access to steal important data. Since the cybercriminals and hackers use a computer, it\u2019s often trickier to track them down than if they were acting it out in person. Where they might be spotted by a security camera. As a result, that employee could do more harm over more time before anyone catches on. Simply put, cyber tech has multiplied the ways employees can misbehave at work.
