Keeping your computer safe is the number 1 responsibility when it comes to owning or using a computer. Computers get hacked all of the time and valuable information is lost because of the lack of security some people choose to take. The one way to keep your computer safe is security program that will block potential threats from accessing your computer, it will also block access to certain sites that you try to visit if it looks strange or out of the ordinary. Most of the time when you are buying a laptop or a pre-built pc, they offer the add-on of a security program when checking out, most of the time it is at a slightly discounted price or even included if you get lucky. Let’s say that your computer does get exposed to some outside threat, you may still be able to back-up some files on a cloud service and then factory reset your computer, but to be on the safe side you always want to get a second opinion on the current situation.
Three ways that computers have made the world safer and less safe are, computers have improved schooling all-together, computers have improved communication, but they have harmed privacy. Firstly, computers have improved school by the main fact that information and learning that information is easier than ever. Instead of having to be in person to actually hear the information to be able to learn, you can be across the country and still see the same information live at the same time. Second, computers have improved communication and it is similar to the last point. Talking to someone long ago was a lot different because you had to be there to hear them, now most of the time you don’t see someone when speaking to them. Business has improved because instead of setting up an in-person meeting to schedule something, you can simply make a phone call to schedule something. Lastly, computers have negatively impacted personal information. The reason for this is because it is easier than ever to access someone’s personal information if they do not have the correct security and awareness to protect it. For example, scammers pretending to be someone else verifying information, and hackers that can remotely access your information.
