My name is Ennio Cruz, I am a third year student at the Old Dominion University studying Cyber Security.
My educational goal is to earn a Master’s degree in Cyber Security and work as an Information Security Analyst after graduation.
I am a member of the ODU Cyber Security Student Association and enjoy attending CyberOp events that expose me to the multiple career opportunities that this field has to offer.
Computers have always been a passion of mine. I served six years in the United States Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician. During my service I was stationed in Virginia, California, and Japan. While in the Navy I developed skills in computer systems, information security and communication security. Throughout my career in the Navy I have also developed strong work ethic, attention to detail, good communication abilities, ability to multi-task, the ability to work well under pressure and the ability to work well with a team.
I was born and raised in the Philippines, before moving to the United States and joining the Navy in 2014. I am fluent in speaking Tagalog and English. Tagalog has many similarities to Spanish which is why I was also motivated to take a Spanish language class in college. I believe being multilingual is a skill that will be valuable in the future as companies are looking for employees who can communicate fluently in English, as well as other languages.
In my spare time I enjoy playing basketball and surfing as well as hanging out with my friends and family. I also love to eat, travel and experience different cultures.
