I enjoyed being in class this semester, despite external circumstances making it difficult to prove that through my grades. One thing in particular that helped me in another course was the cell signaling unit. We talked about this a lot in my Comparative Animal Physiology class but in a broader sense, because the focus was how that compared between species. I’m a visual learner so seeing it both in class and on SmartBio helped me visualize the information better and helped me with more than a few questions on my CAP final. This all ties into my interest in Biology through what I want to do as a career, which is be a Veterinarian. However, cell signaling is just one example of what I learned this semester. From the building blocks of life (amino acids, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids) to cell mechanics and replication as whole, I learned a lot and enjoyed doing do it. It was harder than expected but I’m glad it was because I feel it challenged me to rise to the occasion more so than my other classes. I will be recommending this class to my fellow bio majors, who haven’t taken Cell Bio yet.
