My name is Elijah Goodwyn, and I am a MET student attending Old Dominion University. My objective for pursuing a Mechanical Engineering Technology Degree at Old Dominion University is to Obtain a self-sufficient Engineering Job in the Air Force working on Manned and Unmanned Aircraft. My Pops is a MET graduate from the same program, and I look up to him. He encouraged me throughout this entire process. Using fluids in Aircraft is especially important from Hydraulics in the wings, landing gear, and shock, to Oil, gas, and air pumps. These pumps are powered by the main electrical system of the aircraft. The job of these pumps is to pump the fuel from the fuel tanks to the main engine-driven fuel pump, which then pumps fuel to the engine itself. From this class I can read and understand how the pump works. By doing so I can help create new and better systems.
