Reflect on a High Point and a Low Point in your Education. How has it changed you?
My educational journey started out at a low point because I didn’t realize how important it was to actually focus on the due dates and self control. I started at a community college because I wasn’t sure about school and knew I wasn’t going to be as ready as I should be. In order to avoid the large expense it was financially right for me as well. I failed my first semester and barely could afford books. I decided to join the military and have them pay for school which I did. After a year I went back and knew the stipulations of failing a class would result in me paying back the military. I pushed myself and was able to do well in all but one class which was chemistry. My lowest point was failing the class twice and not knowing what to do with my life. It was the last class and I was at the verge of giving up. I started to not just turn all of my attention to that class but stayed late and wouldn’t leave until I understood the workload. This was what changed me as a person. I never felt so defeated and afraid financially. It made me promise myself to never waste a dime and to push through what I think is hard by giving it more attention.
My highest point in my education was my last semester at odu. I took a law class that required more work than any other class I have taken including reading a chosen book of our choice and writing a paper. I never been good at writing or explaining but I ended up being able to write without stress and received an A. It made me feel like all the work I did was not for anything and it build confidence with taking courses I know nothing about.
