I have gained adaptability during my academic career thus far. The reason I chose adaptability because this skill shows flexibility with change and being able to adjust thoughts and personality to any situation or educational subject. My academic career that I have chosen to major in is because I had a vision for my life and the direction, I want to go so that I am happy in the long run and benefit off of the education I receive. My Five-year plan is to graduate from old dominion with my bachelor’s degree in leadership and minor in business management. I want to rent out a location where I can create my own schedule and offer employment to motivated young people that have a plan to one day own their own business in similar interest. I want to start a store front that displays creative design. The design will be room decorating and organizing. It will help customers make a room that has no personality full of life that only the customer could dream of that is also cost effective.
The detail of the store front will be a decorated boy’s room and a decorated bathroom design. Once the store attracts customers, I will have surveys that will help me emphasize with the customers on their interest as far a color, texture, and ideas. This will help me adapt to other styles and mindsets, so I am able to put myself into their expectations and give them a sense of comfort with me designing their homes. Eventually i will be able to train others on the process and break down each step to employees so they as well have the experience and can open their minds to creativity.
