My sports media consumption “diet” is light to moderate. Most of the time, I’m not searching for sports content; however, when I’m scrolling on different social platforms, the algorithm directs me to trending topics and content happening in sports. My customized timelines on different platforms like Instagram, Tiktok, and Twitter present me with all aspects of sports, like game day highlights, post/pregame interviews, touchdown celebration videos, and more. Around 90% of the way I consume sports media is through scrolling and seeing it on tv. This differs from 5 years ago, as I used to consume media from sports TV shows, like ESPN, and the radio. I remember when I was younger, my dad would listen to sports games on the radio and hear all the scoring updates for the specific teams, just as I can find out now through Twitter and the ESPN app.  In the next 5 years, I predict sports podcasts to become a big thing, as I see this type of media on the rise now on most media platforms. I also think that sports social media will evolve, and streaming will continue to climb in the future.
