Dear Employer,
I am very interested in pursuing my career in the Human Service Profession with your organization. After stepping away from the workforce to start a family, I am eager to resume my professional career now that my child is of school age. I am in the process of obtaining a bachelor’s degree majoring in Human Services, minoring in Psychology and Addiction Treatment Prevention which I will obtain in December 2019. I also plan on obtaining my HS-BCP, CSAC, and CADC credentials soon after graduation. I plan on working with at-risk-youth and substance use disorders.
Through my studies, I have acquired a multitude of skills that are applicable to this role including effective communication, detail orientation, and strategic task management. I am educated in the aspects of human services principles/practices, casework methods, psychosocial issues, mental health, substance abuse, human relations, principles of interviewing and social assistance requirements. I have twenty-three years’ experience in customer service and sales; nineteen years’ experience in retail management and administration; fifteen years’ experience in accounts receivable/payable, collections and civil processing; five years’ experience in banking; and two years’ of education and experience in dentistry.
Prior to leaving the workforce, I had successfully handled all aspects of customer service. I assisted customers in a fast-paced environment, resolving problems and working with customers from a diverse range of backgrounds. In addition to my experience, I have a solid educational foundation and a passion to help people. I am extremely enthusiastic about returning to the work force and welcome the opportunity to contribute to your ongoing success in improving the welfare and lives of clients.
I believe I would be an asset to your organization. My resume is attached for your review. I would like the opportunity to tell you more about my skills, and how I could contribute to the successful day-to-day running of your company.
Sincerely,
