Individual Idea Assessment
This artifact demonstrates my ability to identify cybersecurity challenges and evaluate potential technology-based solutions. In my Entrepreneur course, I assessed two application concepts addressing distinct cybersecurity needs: an application designed to provide cybersecurity education to senior citizens, who are increasingly target by sophisticated scams and social engineering techniques, and an application focused on cybersecurity training for small businesses.
Evaluating both concepts required me to consider the specific need of each target population, the problems the applications would address, and the practicality of the proposed solutions.
This project required me to consider the needs of each target population and evaluate how technology could address those needs. This demonstrates my ability to assess technology solutions based on their intended users, organizational needs, and potential value.
These skills are relevant because effective technology decisions require understand business requirements and evaluating whether a proposed solution is an appropriate fit before investing organizational resources.
Vendor Renewal Database
I designed a centralized database to improve the management of IT software renewals and contractual information. The database tracks vendor and supplier names, product descriptions, contract terms, costs, invoice numbers, cancellation requirements, and applicable price-cap provisions. I organized the information by department and structured it. with future automation in mind.
This artifact demonstrates technology and vendor management because effective vendor management depends on having accurate and accessible information about contractual obligations, costs, renewal timeline and pricing protections. The database allows IT management to approach renewals proactively and make better-informed procurement and vendor decisions.
Digital Forensics Laboratory Plan
This artifact is a plan I developed for establishing a digital forensics laboratory including the hardware, software, security, maintenance, and operational resources needed to support the laboratory. I selected and evaluated technology based on the laboratory’s specific requirements rather than considering each resource independently.
This artifact demonstrates technology procurement and vendor management because it required me to identify technology needs, evaluate appropriate resources, and consider how individual technology investments would support broader organizational objectives. It demonstrates my ability to approach technology selection strategically rather than simply identifying available products.
