FISMA Policy Paper
This artifact is a policy analysis I completed for ODU’s CYSE 425W course examining the Federal Information Security Act (FISMA) and its broader social, organizational, and cybersecurity implications. The paper required me to analyze the policy from multiple perspectives, including the balance between cybersecurity oversight, regulatory requirements, and the operational needs of organizations. I evaluated how information security practices are influenced by organizational culture societal expectations, and evolving cybersecurity threats.
This artifact demonstrates my ability to analyze complex issues from multiple perspectives, evaluate competing considerations, and develop a reasoned understanding of how cybersecurity policies affect both technical environments and the organizations responsible for managing them.
Human Factor Policy Paper
This artifact examines the relationship between employee participation, organizational culture, and cybersecurity policy adherence. I considered the potential benefits and limitations of involving employees in cybersecurity decision-making and how organizational circumstances can influence the effectiveness of different approaches.
This artifact demonstrates problem solving and critical thinking because it required me to evaluate competing perspectives and consider the human and organizational factors behind cybersecurity problems. It demonstrates my ability to look beyond the technical aspects of an issue, analyze how different factors interact, and recognize that an effective solution may depend on the specific circumstances of an organization.
Digital Forensics
This artifact demonstrates my analysis of digital evidence from a smartphone and laptop using multiple forensic tools and techniques. I examined messages, call records, browser activity, location data, emails, network logs, and recovered files and correlated information across different sources.
This artifact demonstrates problem solving and critical thinking because I had to determine what the evidence actually supported rather than simply accepting individual findings at face value. I evaluated information from multi sources, identified connections between evidence, recognized limitations, and developed conclusion based on what could be supported by the available evidence.
