Computer science Major

When it comes to computer science, what is a bigger look into the study of computers and computational problems. However, cyber security is a subdivision of computer science, which involves protecting computer networks systems, and many more from hackers and other significant threats. An article by Tulane University provides some insight by saying “Computer science is an overarching term that covers technology analysis, administration, video game development, and security, among other domains. A bachelor’s program in computer science equips students with basic knowledge about information technology hardware and software, networks and security, and programming and analysis, with an emphasis on collaboration, critical thinking, and communication solutions. Computer science majors learn computational thinking: posing a problem and devising a system for a computer to solve the problem. Students cultivate these skills through fundamental courses in programming, databases, networking, and security. They also gain skills in business analysis, device management, coding, and project management. A bachelor’s degree can lead to a plethora of career options as an administrator (system, network, or database), systems analyst, developer, or engineer, for example.” https://sopa.tulane.edu/blog/cybersecurity-vs-computer-science

Cyber Security has opened doors which involve many studies, especially Criminology. Which has an area of study that focuses on cyber enabled crime, policy response and more. Technology has made life easier in many ways. For example, we as a society have access to huge amounts of information in seconds, we can access work from anywhere, it has made money management safer, and has made communication easier. On the other hand, it has also affected people’s behavior negatively, and is being used inappropriately. Cyber criminology focuses on this aspect of the world of crime.
